Care home entertainment
It's not an easy job, caring for people. Especially those who are no longer able to do as much for themselves as they used to. Some have debilitating conditions such as Dementia, or Parkinson's disease. Others are just slowing down, or losing a little confidence as they get older.
If you run a care home or nursing home, you are already trying to make their life as simple, yet interesting as possible. Providing entertainment for your service users can be so daunting.
Here's where Guy can help you.
Guy trained as a carer within the NHS, and specialised for five years in elderly care. For over two years, he was part of the very busy Occupational Therapy Team at a major hospital. He attended Master Classes with such luminaries as Dr David Sheard (creator of the Butterfly Method), and believes strongly in the idea of entering into someone else's world, rather than trying to drag them into ours. It works: Guy is also a trained Dementia Champion, and has helped to organise events at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, using music as a source of therapy.
Now, he is looking forward to using this experience, and mixing it with his love of all music, to provide music therapy to your residents with some wonderful music. Contact Guy for more details.
